Graeme Bell

Director of Golf
PGA Professional

I have been the Head PGA Professional at East Kilbride Golf Club since 2014. Previous to this I was Head Professional at Linlithgow Golf Club where I set up the central belts premier Golf Performance Lab. Over the last 10 years I have invested in the worlds best coaching and fitting technology.I invested in this equipment to give all golfers the highest level of custom fitting and coaching available. This has enabled me to be an advisor to golf manufacturers and to write for National and international Golf magazines.

Stuart Houlden

Assistant PGA Professional

My Name is Stuart Houlden and I am the Assistant Professional at East Kilbride Golf Club. Having turned pro in October 2016 I am currently on a 3 year course to become a qualified PGA Professional. Previously I have attended the University of the West of Scotland and achieved a degree in international marketing. However I could not escape the attraction of golf and after a few different jobs in various fields the opportunity to turn professional came up and I decided to take the opportunity. I am really enjoying working with Graeme and have learned a huge amount from working with him and look forward to taking what I have learned and using it to help all of you improve your golf. I could stand and talk about golf and our Golf Performance Lab all day long so if you would like any information on our all new state of the art teaching, fitting & practice facility please to do hesitate to contact me.

Ian Welsh

Club Technician

Started playing golf back 1969 after seeing a poster in high school for golf lessons under the guidance of Jimmy Taylor, the Pro at East Kilbride GC. Left school in 1974 to take up the position of assistant pro to Jim Farmer at Drumpellier GC. Left in 1975 to take the position of first assistant at Musselburgh GC with Tom Stango. Tom encouraged me to play as much competitive golf as I could. At this time golf tourneys where few and far between for Assistant Pros. Notable mentions 3rd in the Scottish Assistants Championship at Crieff GC. Left in 1977 to take the position of first assistant with Lawrence Farmer at West Middlesex Golf and Squash Club. Lawrence was a great player and coach and certainly helped me through my PGA training. He later went on to coach some of the best ladies in England. Allison Nicholas and Mellisa Reid to name a couple. Also quite a few Solheim cup players and the English Curtis Cup squad.
